What are the names of some great animation computer programs?

I want to know what kind of animation programs the big comanies use. Like for example what they used to make the short clips of Final Fantasy XII, or the animation sequences that are used in many movies.

If this is not possible, how about the best or relatively good animation computer programs available in the market.

What are the names of some great animation computer programs?
That's not realistic- but it's not the software, it's the hardware. They use server farms to render some of those nice FMVs, so you'd be hard pressed to equal what they've created.

Even with a simple workstation computer, doing computer animation is a taxing process and the software isn't cheap. I would recommend researching in school, or getting connected with people in the business.

For really basic, portable animation, Flash is probably your best bet. You can even get 3-D object models and do some pretty fancy things. But you'll probably never be up to the level of a movie from a video game.

For hard 3-D work, 3D Studio Max is the industry staple. Maya is good too, but only gets additional praise due to its lower prices.
Reply:Maya it's a great animation software. Big companies usually use a combination of several softwares, but among them they use Maya.
