My mom does not know computers very well. She lives over 50 miles away from me, but she has some computer issues she needs fixed. Is there a free computer program available that we both can download so that I can take over her computer and make the changes that she would like? I tried NetMeeting, but it looks like the two computers need to be on the same network.

You will have to set up her computer to accept remote desktop connections, and you will need to know her IP address. For making changes to her computer it would work well, for transfering large files it's kind of slow...
