I am looking to buy a christmas present for my brother and he is going to college next fall to be an Architect and I was wondering what a good software program for the computer would be to get him?

I wouldnt recommend that you buy him a program since his college will probably have certain programs they want him to learn and use. If he gets the program through the college it may also be cheaper and most programs can cost a lot of money. If you still want to buy him a program, a basic one a lot of people use (and architects should know how to use) is AutoCAD (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ind... At my undergrad, they also used Rhino (http://www.rhino3d.com/).
