If you really want to tackle this alone, there are always book in the library you can check out and read.But you have one BIG OBSTACLE in the way, if you get stuck, you can't ask a book questions and clear problems up, like you can in a computer school, or with someone knowledgeable sitting next to you.
Reply:Actually it depends on the language you are interested in learning. There are alot of resources here on the internet to help. You have to get used to all the computer-related jargon first to understand most manuals and guides though.
