The latest craze, at least for web languages, is Ruby on Rails.

What's the latest craze in computer programming languages ?
C#
Reply:I agree, on the web, right now, it's definitely Ruby on Rails.

EDIT:

manga_sisters, could your reply be any more moronic?
Reply:kick the computer
Reply:AJAX
Reply:In the commersal languages - definitely C# 2.0 is the news :)

However, when reading the highlights in C# 3.0 (it is under design now) it comes to my mind that it will feature alot of functional elements.

So I think you would enjoy learn Haskel. Microsoft has released Haskel for Visual studio :)

Check the http://research.microsoft.com/ downloads section. You will see alot of cool craze there :)

EDIT:

btw manga_sisters rulez :)!
Reply:After using it for 25 years, and having tried just about every other programming language available (OK, I'll list a few: Assembly, C++, Java, BASIC, VB, FORTRAN, Pascal, Ada, FORTH, COBOL, etc, etc., and many more) I still find that the only programming language I'm still crazy about is "C". Yep, good old straight "C". As a general purpose programming language it is still more powerful and less restrictive than any other general purpose language. If you are an intelligent programmer, then you'll be able to master C no problem - if you're not quite as capable (C seems a bit too difficult) then I recommend something like Java or C#. Functionally, C++ gives you nothing that "straight" C doesn't have - the difference is that C++ guides you (very loosely) to organize your code in an object-oriented way. I am expert at C++, and I can say that there is nothing that I need to do 99% of the time that can't be done well in C. You can even write object-oriented "straight" C (albiet without the C++ syntax) - I was doing so years before C++ was even invented.
Reply:Japanese is intresting...we'll it doesn't really matter...you're just one of those people that don't get real life....
